'Fool’s Gold' feat. Jono McCleery is the final single from Karol XVII & MB Valence's much anticipated new album, Essay, which drops in February 2022.

Karol XVII & MB Valence is a Polish duo with more than a decade spent playing around the world and serving up vital house sounds. They run their own Loco Records, have been nominated as Best Deep House Artists at the Beatport Music Awards, and always explore fresh new ground with each release. As well as their club and studio experiences, they also have backgrounds in composition and sound engineering. They are core Get Physical family members who contributed to 2020's 'Retrospective' and mark their finest work yet with the 'Essay' album, as hinted at with this classy new single. For this latest offering they have teamed up with UK singer songwriter and Ninja Tune associate Jono McCleery for something rather special.

The fantastic 'Fool's Gold' (ARPS Mix) begins with twisted, tortured synths that eventually give way to gorgeous keys. They strike a melancholic mood, while Jono McCleery's spine-tingling vocals up the emotional ante as the warm, deep drums roll on and cast a mesmeric spell. Jackspeare has released on Loco and Island Moods and remixed this outfit several times in the past. His version comes with a dark bassline rolling down low, while the poignant chords and soulful vocals hang up top. It's a track that brings real musicality to the dance floor. Last of all is a gorgeous BosaNoga Mix that removes the drums and reworks the track with acoustic guitar, soft shakers and languid chords. It's a heart-aching piece of gentle Latin-tinged rhythm for intimate late nights.

These are three superb new tunes that come just ahead of the brilliant full length.
